Greg Norman is known as "The Great White Shark," a
nickname given to him after the first round of the
1981 U.S. Masters Tournament, when the 26-year-old
Australian had a share of the lead.
Greg won the British Open Championship twice, first
hoisting the Claret Jug at Turnberry in 1986 and again
at Royal St. George's in 1993, where he posted a record-low
aggregate of 267. In total, Greg has won 88 professional
events around the world, including 20 U.S. PGA Tour
titles. He was also the first person in Tour history
to surpass $10 million in career earnings.
Greg topped the Official World Golf Ranking when they
were introduced in 1986. He held the World No. 1 ranking
for an astounding 331 weeks. Greg’s well-documented
successes on the golf course secured him a spot in
the World Golf Hall of Fame.
